Florals. I have a love/hate relationship with them. Mostly, I love beautiful, big, blooming buds. The part I don’t like is when they wilt and die – which is always too quickly. Flowers can easily set the feel and tone for a wedding when you walk into the reception. But what happens when the day is over and you have a bazillion leftover flowers? Most people would love to keep them all but who wants their house to look like a funeral home. And what happens if you’re leaving for a honeymoon the next day? You’d come back to a flower funeral home.
I’ve had a few brides ask me what to do with their beautiful florals after the wedding day. Below are a few ideas of how to get the most of your flowers post-wedding:
- Offer arrangements to guests at the end of the night (be sure to return the vases if they are rented)
- If you are having a Sunday brunch, reuse the florals as centerpieces
- Donate some of your flowers to local hospital or nursing home – an easy, amazing way to cheer someone up
I’ve had brides do all three of these options. I also wouldn’t be upset if you asked me to take one home as well!
